Privacy control
Apps on mobile devices are collecting data day and night. But there are steps you can take to keep your personal data private. — Tamekia Reece
Check the permissions. Review the permissions of your apps. Remove any permissions you don’t want the app to have, especially those not related to the app’s purpose.Read the privacy policy. Check to see if (or how) your data will be shared. If the privacy policy is unclear, consider deleting the app.Limit location permissions. For apps that need location services to function, change the permissions to allow access only when the app is in use. You can find this in your phone’s settings.Keep app software up to date. Out-of-date software puts apps at increased risk of being hacked. Install updates immediately once they’re released.
Be careful with third-party apps and games. Logging into apps, playing games or taking quizzes through your social media account gives third parties access to your personal data (such as your name, photos, friends list and more).Delete unused apps. Uninstall apps you no longer use so they can’t collect your data.
